It is still two and a half months until the event, but after the Xiwuqi Hotel now also the Mongolian yurts on the Saturday night have been fully booked. We now have more than 300 people already scheduled to take part in the GKF. Both Nordic Ways and the Xiwuqi local government are of course delighted with the very positive response to the Genghis Khan Festival and we are committed to deliver a high-quality event.
Due to the distance to Xiwuqi town centre, the Mongolian yurts can only be envisaged for Saturday night. Thank you for your understanding.
As announced via our newsletter earlier this week, a second hotel that provides similar four-star accomodation as the official Xiwuqi event hotel has been opened, but also this hotel is now close to being booked out. Once again, we kindly urge people to confirm their registrations as soon as possible, if not already done so.
Runners who are planning to take the China Union flight from Beijing’s South Airport, are kindly requested to consider taking the Thursday evening flight and travel package B, rather than the Friday evening flight to allow for sufficient rest and checking-in time before the Grassland Marathon on Saturday morning. As previously announced, Nordic Ways is also arranging a bus service from Beijing to Xiwuqi. Busses will leave on Thursday and return on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Nordic Ways staff is travelling up to Inner Mongolia next week to arrange further appropriate accomodation possibilities. Nevertheless, in order to warrant quality standards for everyone participating in the Genghis Khan Festival, we may need to close the sale of our travel packages in the course of May. Afterwards, registration for the MTB and running competitions will still be possible, but people will need to take care of their own logistics.
Please contact Yue Hong for any further logistical questions.
