We are happy to announce our latest promotional partnership with another stellar MTB race in Asia, namely the Cordillera Challenge. This is the biggest one-day endurance MTB race in the Philippines, typically organised in May of each year.
For the past 5 years the Cordillera Challenge has been the hardest and most beautiful mountain biking event in the Philippines. The course, which changes every year, brings riders to some of the most remote regions of the Cordillera mountain range in some of the most beautiful ecosystems. The area has mountain peaks of up to 3000 metres above sea level. Regional centre is Baguio, roughly four hours from Clark airport and double that from Manila. This event has grown into people’s consciousness in the Philippines with over 1000 riders registering each year to challenge and experience the beauty of the Cordillera mountains. The ride also raises funds for the Cordillera Conservation Trust, an environmental NGO with forest building programs.
As part of the promotional exchange, the male and female winners of the 2016 Genghis Khan MTB Adventure, and the King and Queen of the Grasslands, will receive a voucher for a free race entry in the 2017 Cordillera Challenge! Likewise, the winners of the Philippines’ race will be present in Xiwuqi. This year even, most likely, as the Cordillera Challenge takes place on 14 May.
