Changing lives one smile at a time is a great life’s motto that every participant in the Genghis Khan Festival literally can live up to. Our charity partner Operation Smile has just introduced a professional fundraising page on Simplygiving.com for all people to help children with cleft lips and palates in the more needy regions of China.
As Julia Jorgenson, Development Manager of Operation Smile China AND half marathon runner, states on the new webpage: “as an organization with a model that relies heavily on teamwork and the unending passion of our volunteers, we hope that you will join us at this year’s Grassland Marathon to celebrate teamwork and support Operation Smile’s cause.”
We are happy to see so many people have already contributed to the cause and donations remain highly appreciated via the event’s online registration form. But for those who really want to make a difference there is now simplygiving, and its easy-to-use fundraising platform. By raising 1000rmb you can become an official Operation Smile team member for the Grassland Marathon (or half marathon, or 10km). For the extra mile, 5000rmb, you earn Platinum status and a great gift at the event. Brief, don’t just run, run for a cause!
It is the second year in succession the Genghis Khan Festival cooperates with Operation Smile. Last year, the charity’s running squad raised more than 100,000RMB and the goal for this summer is of course to top even that. Every donation from yourself, family, friends or colleagues counts to treat a child with a life-changing surgery. More facts and details on Operation Smile and their missions in China can be read in the charity section of this website.
Simplygiving is a recently established web platform with basis in Singapore. It makes fundraising easy and ever so enjoyable. Do have a look!
